Avoiding the inevitable...

So the days have passed, and its soon time for me to return to work. The time has gone by far too fast. It seems like just yesterday Braxton was born. Now, here we are almost 3 months later. He has grown so much and changed almost daily. And I have been here everyday to see that happen. Now, come Monday, I am heading back to the office 7-6. I won't be there when he wakes up in the morning, or goes down for his naps. His daily feedings, playtime. Instead, I will be at work...I am still coming to terms with that. I knew the day was coming. My return to work was inevitable unless we miraculously came into a large sum of money :) It doesn't mean that I have to like it though...

We are fortunate enough to have a wonderful neighbor who we are trusting to watch him while we are gone. She is going to come over in the AM before we leave which is great. No hauling him to a daycare center full of germs. He gets to be home all day, or at least close to home with all of his own things. Hopefully it works out like we plan. We think it will be great.

So, on to a much happier topic. Braxton is almost 12 weeks old. I am just amazed how much he has changed. He is so much bigger. And he is full of smiles and is so observant. I just love it. He really knows Luke and I from others. It's so funny. Here is what he is up to...

- He has grown over 4 inches and is in the 76th percentile for height
- He was 12lbs 8oz at his 2 month appointment, almost 2x when he was born!
- He was laughing and smiling when mom and dad talk to him
- Starting to grab at his lamb that hangs over his chair
- He enjoys his play yard and laughs and coos when he is in it
- Started paying attention to the Baby Einstein Sign Language video
- Sleeping at night from about 8-9PM until 2-3AM...gets up, has a bottle then goes back down until about 7-8AM
- Standing up strong when mom and dad hold him
- Sits up very well too. Not quite on his own.

Overall we have a happy, healthy, handsome little guy on our hands. He is really starting to look like Daddy but definitely has some of mom's traits... Here are a few recent pictures. Isn't he just the cutest? Ok, yes, I am partial :)

On another very happy note, Braxton welcomed his two cousins this month. Jameson Thomas and Padraig Jock were born March 10th. They are doing great! So adorable. They look a lot like Rachel does. And definitely like their big brother. Uncle Luke is thinking about all kinds of great toys involving motors for them...its going to be boys, boys, boys! AND we also have another he/she on the way on the Liedel side. Jessica and Paul are expecting baby #2 November 5th!!! We might get a girl this year afterall!!! Another boy would be fun too though.

Well better go get dinner started while little man naps. Wishing everyone well!
