Braxton

So this is a little late coming, but better late then never right?

We took Braxton for his 2 year old check up last month. It is still amazing to me that he is already 2. He is truly an amazing kid. (I know I am partial) Every day we are seeing something new from him.

So here are his stats:

He is 36" tall and he weighs 30 lbs. He is 90th percentile for height and 75th for weight.

He wears a size 8 shoe and 2T pants. His favorite movie at the moment is Puss'N'Boots. Thank goodness we moved on from Cars an Cars2! He really enjoys being outside and will drive anything that has a motor. His favorite thing to do is hang out behind the wheel in Dad's truck and play.

Braxton is a very loving little boy. He tells us if his brother and sister are 'cying'. He'll give them kisses on their head before he goes to sleep - lately they have been in bed before him though - YAY! He LOVES his Dog stuffed animal. Dog goes for naps, movies and bedtime. And he loves his real dogs too. He is learning new words every day. And really using his manners - 'Pease' 'Dank you' 'Delcome'...I am still 'Bom' :)

He is definitely in the heart of the 'terrible twos' though. Temper tantrums happen. He throws himself on the floor and is very dramatic. When he does this though we tell him to go in the back room and come back when he's done. This seems to be pretty effective so far. He'll even put himself back there if he is crying over something. It's kind of funny.

For his second birthday we had a party up at Frankenmuth's Bavarian Inn. It was a really nice time. All of his cousins came to celebrate. There was cotton candy, hula hoops, Cars cupcakes, pizza, pop, LOTS of game playing and after that swimming! We also got a room there so we stayed the night. Braxton is definitely a little fish! He loves the water.

So that is what Braxton is up to these days. We're excited for warmer weather and sunshine soon. Hope this finds you well!

Four months...

We had our fourth month check up for the babies last night. Here are their stats:

Eamon - a.k.a Our Little Tank
~Weight - 18 lbs 11oz - 100th percentile :)
~Height - 25 1/2 inches long
~Head Size - 17 3/4 inches - yep, he's a Gavigan baby!

Luciella - a.k.a Little Flower
~Weight - 16 lbs 8 oz - 95th percentile
~Height - 25 1/4 inches long
~Head size - 16 1/2 inches - she too is a Gavigan baby.

What they are up to these days:

Eamon ~

  • Sleeps from 8:30PM - 2/3AM. Give him a bottle and a change and he's back out until about 7/8AM. He is JUST like Braxton was. Wakes up so happy in the morning. You'll find him in his crib just kicking away, talking and eating his hands.

  • He is a VERY happy baby. Loves to be held & snuggled.

  • He'll coo and talk and kick when you lay him on his back and talk to him. And he gives you the biggest smiles!

  • 'Talks' in a high pitched voice and chuckles

  • Really likes to watch the TV when certain things are on - bright colors, music

  • Not a big fan of tummy time, but is very strong

  • Wearing 9mo+ clothes for the most part

Lucy~

  • She is more of a night owl then Eamon. Usually goes to bed about 9-9:30 for the night, and sleeps until 2/3AM. She is the same though, bottle and a change and back out. She's like her momma though. She'll sleep in until 9 or later at times :)

  • She LOVES to have blankets on her face. If you take them off she pulls them right back over her.

  • She talks and talks. Much more vocal than her brother.

  • Really watches Braxton and what he is doing

  • Drooly, drooly, drooly! Thinking we'll see a tooth pretty soon.

  • Almost rolling over on her tummy. She gets stuck on her arm and then gets really mad!

  • Has the lung capacity and volume of an adult ;)

  • She wears 6 month clothes at the moment. Some are a little bigger

  • When you surprise her she'll smile real big and laugh! And pull her little hands to her cheeks. Its so cute!
We have been blessed with three very happy, healthy kids. The babies are doing so great and Braxton continues to amaze and entertain us every day. I know I keep saying it, but its so important for us to treasure these days. I am really trying to do a better job of focusing on just how lucky we are.

We take Braxton to the Dr. next week for his two year appt. So I'll post about him when I have his latest 'stats'.

Alright I suppose I should get back to work...
I was re-reading some of my older posts and came across the quote - "Every day is a little life." And it just struck me for some reason. It's so simple and so true.

Enjoy today. Live today. Remember yesterday, hope for tomorrow, but savor today and ALL that it brings...
